In conjunction of the new implementation of regulation by MUI, GTDW 8.0 will feature a presentation by MUI in details about the new regulation and updates of Halal industry in Indonesia. LUKMAN President ASIAN FOOD & BEVERAGES ALLIANCE (AFBA) Was born in 1961, and graduated from IPB (Bogor Agricultural University), Faculty of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Food Technology & Human Nutrition in 1984. With experience in various seminars and trainings, both nationally and internationally, Adhi Lukman continues his career in industry, either of food or other industries. Recognized internationally as an authority on the food industry, Adhi Lukman is the current Chairman of GAPMMI, the Indonesian Food & Beverages Association. In 2016, elected as President of AFBA (ASEAN Food and Beverage Alliance). Scientific and Regulatory Affairs & Food Safety and Quality PT FONTERRA BRANDS, INDONESIA AFIFFUDIN A. is the current Director of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs - Food Safety and Quality for PT Fonterra Brands Indonesia. Prior to holding this position, he spent 21 years in Nestle, whilst holding various top position includes the Vice President for Regulatory and Scientific Affairs. In Nestle, he was awarded with numerous excellency awards in his field which has proven his expertise. He graduated from Gadjah Mada University in Food Technologist in 1990. Throughout his career, he has involved in various conferences and workshops internationally to promote regulatory and food safety quality.
AHMED ELSHAL General Secretary DANONE MIDDLE EAST Ahmed Elshal is the Director of Regulatory & Government Affairs for Middle East & South East Asia at Danone Medical Nutrition. Elshal is a highly experienced Regulatory Affairs and Quality professional with a comprehensive and strategic understanding of the regulatory environment in the Middle East & South East Asia. In Danone Medical Nutrition, he has established state of the art regulatory structure and processes for Middle East and Africa regions and built strong business relationship with KOLs at different health authorities in those regions. He also won the “Global Regulatory / Medical” Award in 2011 which was to honor professionals who have made exceptional contributions to the medical division. Prior to that, Elshal worked in Eli Lilly for almost 8 years and his role was to conduct regular audit and warehouse quality assessment for Eli Lilly local distributors in all gulf countries. Some of his achievements in the company include International Regulatory Recognition Award for best performance in planning and implementation across AMEA/CIS (2008) and MENA Award for Quality and Timely Contribution in MENA Business Plan (2010 – 2011). Elshal graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Mansoura University.

ERGIN BECEREN Secretary General / Managing Director ISLAMIC WORLD ENTREPRENEURS NETWORK (ISWEN) Ergin serves number of organizations at board level on economic and social cooperation & development projects. He has been experienced on strategy, leadership and management on investments, and organizational development by serving multinational organizations in more than 50 countries for the past 15 years. He has a keen interest to entrepreneurship, innovation, youth development, women entrepreneurship, career development, and business development especially in Muslim World. He is one of the founders of “Rizq-e- Halal” project, which serves for empowering the awareness on producing, consuming and earning halal, which is also the motto of Islamic World Entrepreneurs Network (ISWEN). He holds BA and MA degrees in industrial engineering and economics, and writing his PhD thesis in engineering management, where he gives lectures on strategy and management. He continues his academic studies on sociology, where he concentrates on inter cultural cooperation, peace building and community development.
HENDRO POEDJONO Director Public Affairs & Regulatory Affairs FRIESLANDCAMPINA AFRICA MIDDLE EAST ASIA Hendro Harijogi Poedjono was appointed Director for Public and Regulatory Affairs of FrieslandCampina Asia, Middle East and Africa in September 2012. He has concurrently held the role of President of Commissioners of PT Kievit Indonesia since 2007. He also serves as executive board member of the ASEAN Food and Beverages Alliance (AFBA). Hendro began his career with FrieslandCampina 25 years ago as Small Holder Plantation Manager of PT Dieng Djaya in Central Java, later becoming Deputy Director. He moved to Jakarta in 1995, first as Assistant Director then Site Director of PT Foremost Indonesia. His achievements at these two FrieslandCampina companies resulted in his appointment as HR and General Affairs Director of PT Friesche Vlag Indonesia from 1998 to 2003. Following the company’s transformation into PT Frisian Flag Indonesia, Hendro became HR and Corporate Affairs Director, a role which he held for seven years. In 2010, when Frisian Flag Indonesia re-launched its brand, Hendro served as Trade Marketing Director until August 2012. An Indonesian national, Hendro is currently based in Singapore. He is an agricultural engineering graduate of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta and is a keen golfer.

KHAIRIL ISMAHAFIZ MUHADZIR Chief Commercial Officer DAGANGHALAL.COM Dr. Khairil Ismahafiz graduated from the University of Central England, Birmingham UK with a First Class Honours in BA (Hons) Business Administration and a Master in Business Administration in 1998. DR. MARCO TIEMAN Founder LBB INTERNATIONAL Dr. Marco Tieman is the founder of LBB International (the Netherlands), a consulting & research firm specialised in agri-food supply chains, industrial supply chains and third party logistics. We advise clients in the area of procurement, production and supply chain management. At LBB International we have a passion to bring supply chain innovations to the world and provide diagnostics, supply chain design & solutions, and market research. Today we have offices in the Netherlands and Malaysia as well as partner offices in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Dr. Tieman has a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering & Management Science from the University of Twente (the Netherlands) and a Ph.D. in Business Management from the Universiti Teknologi Mara (Malaysia). Dr Tieman is Adjunct Professor with Universiti Tun Abdul Razak in Malaysia responsible for research in halal supply chain management. Next to that he is Adjunct Professor with Universiti Malaysia Pahang focusing on logistics education. Finally he is on the Senior Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Islamic Marketing (Emerald, UK). Before the setting-up of LBB International, he was Senior Researcher with TNO Inro in the Netherlands, a leading research firm in logistics & supply chain management in Europe. He is a frequent speaker on Logistics and Supply Chain Management at forums and conferences in Asia and the Middle East. He writes in academic journals as well as professional magazines and is a columnist for the New Straits Times (Malaysia). DR. MIAN RIAZ Director, Process Engineering R&D Center TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY Dr. Mian Nadeem Riaz is Director for the Process Engineering R&D Center (Formally Food Protein R&D Center), Graduate Faculty in the Food Science and Technology program at Texas A&M University, USA. Dr. Riaz published five books and one of the books is in the area of Halal food titled “Halal Food Production”. This book has been translated in to Chinese, Persian and Korean languages. He also published 22 chapters in different books including chapters in the area of Halal food related issues. Currently, he is teaching a course on “Religious and Ethnic Food” at Texas A&M University to Food Science and Nutrition majors He has given more than 300 talks in 55 different countries.
DR. MUHAMMAD YANIS MUSDJA Chairman INDONESIAN HALAL PRODUCTS FOUNDATION Dr. Muhammad Yanis Musdja is the current chairman of the Indonesian Foundation of Halal Food Products. He is also the Secretary General of International Association of Halal Auditors and the Vice Chairman of Indonesian Association of Muslim Intellectual, to name a few. He is a lecturer in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Islamic State University, Jakarta, Indonesia. where his specializations include analysis of Halal foods, HCCP of Food, Pharmacology and toxicology of Food, Drugs and Cosmetics. Dr. Muhammad Yanis is active in speaking in international events to help spreading the awareness and development of Halal in the industry.

With more than twenty years of experience, she has helped transform the face of many multi-national organizations by developing strategic and influential communication plans for corporate and consumer brands. Part of her responsibility in corporate affairs is to create a winning reputation and ensure that the organization’s key message is delivered to as many people and as effectively as possible. Raja Zalina began her impressive career with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from University of Canterbury, New Zealand. She has worked with several large international and Government linked corporations such as British Petroleum, Carrefour and Malaysian Agrifood Corporation (MAFC), a fully owned subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional. DR. SITI N. ABDUL MALEK Executive Director ASIAN FOOD & BEVERAGES ALLIANCE (AFBA) DR. SITI ABDUL MALEK has over 20 years of experience as an academician. She left the academic world 8 years ago to pursue a career in the food industry. She currently oversees Food Industry Asia’s science and regulatory activities and, since October this year, is on full secondment to the ASEAN Food and Beverage Alliance (AFBA), as its Executive Director. Dr Siti holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Food Science from Rutgers University, New Jersey and a Master’s in Food Science degree from Michigan State University.
