Foreign direct investment (FDI) can be channeled towards countries’ climate-aligned growth objectives. Investment authorities have a role to play in facilitating such “climate FDI”.
The guidebook aims to help investment promotion authorities (IPAs) incorporate climate goals into their strategies, recommending ways for them to engage with the growing number of multinational climate commitments and drive capital into projects. It also suggests mitigation actions for the various risks that IPAs may encounter in pursuing climate FDI facilitation.
